Dehours & Fils Extra Brut Brisefer 2011 is a rare vintage Blanc de Blancs from Jérôme Dehours, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in a special parcel in Mareuil-le-Port in the Vallée de la Marne. The vineyard was originally identified as a particularly exceptional site by Jérôme Dehours' grandfather, with plantings dating to 1947, 1966 and 1992.

The wine is fermented and matured in 200, 300 and 500-litre oak barrels using indigenous yeasts, allowing the Chardonnay to develop additional texture and complexity while retaining the character of its terroir. It undergoes no malolactic fermentation and is finished with an extremely low dosage, placing the wine firmly in the Extra Brut category.

The 2011 Magnum is particularly rare, with specialist sources reporting only around 666–667 Magnums produced. Extended ageing and the large-format bottle contribute to its mature, layered and gastronomic character.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden with luminous reflections and fine, persistent bubbles.

Nose: White flowers, acacia and honeysuckle develop alongside toasted almond, hazelnut, lemon, mature apricot and subtle pastry notes.

Palate: Broad and silky, with creamy mousse, ripe fruit, citrus freshness and a pronounced saline mineral character. Oak ageing contributes depth without overwhelming the Chardonnay.

Finish: Long and persistent, with citrus, iodine, gentle bitterness and savoury mineral notes.
