The Myths & Legends series is a limited release trio bottled in July 2019 from Compass Box. The whiskies aim to debunk three common misconceptions among whisky drinkers: 1) That blending is restricted to blended Scotch whisky, 2) A whisky’s region determines its flavour profile, and 3) Malt whisky from renowned distilleries is too precious to blend with others. All are non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.

Myths & Legends I: Blends together two parcels of malt whisky, one younger and one older, from the Highlands Balblair distillery. This single malt was matured in a combination of American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. Only 4,394 bottles were produced. 

Myths & Legends II: Blends together malt whiskies of different ages from the Speyside Glen Elgin distillery. This single malt was matured in a combination of casks: refill sherry butt, refill American oak hogshead, recharred American oak barrel and recharred American oak hogshead. Only 4,446 bottles were produced. 

Myths & Legends III: Blends together some of the same parcels of malt whisky used in Myths & Legends II and peated malt whiskies from the Highland Park and Caol Ila distilleries. Bottled in July 2019. This blended malt was matured in a combination of casks: refill sherry butt, refill American oak hogshead, recharred American oak barrel and recharred American oak hogshead. Only 4,564 bottles were produced.
