Mars Single Malt Whisky Komagatake 2018 Bourbon Cask #BT3850 is an exceptionally limited single-cask Japanese single malt from the Mars Komagatake Distillery, created for the SG60 Edition celebrating Singapore's 60th anniversary.

Distilled in January 2018 and matured in a first-fill Bourbon barrel, this single cask was bottled in March 2025 at its natural cask strength of 62% ABV, giving the whisky a concentrated and expressive character. Only 203 bottles were produced from cask #BT3850.

The whisky showcases the fruit-forward character of Komagatake alongside the sweet vanilla and oak influence of a first-fill Bourbon barrel. Aromas of vanilla, citrus zest, apple skin, and lemon custard lead into a rich palate of oak, honey, banana, and cinnamon, followed by a powerful, mouth-coating finish.

The SG60 presentation is further distinguished by label artwork from Singaporean illustrator Lee Xin Li, whose In Our Time artwork celebrates Singapore's history, architecture, culture, and everyday life.

Tasting Notes
Colour

Bright golden amber.

Nose

A vibrant combination of vanilla, citrus zest, fresh apple skin, and lemon custard. Sweet, creamy notes are balanced by bright citrus and fresh orchard-fruit character.

Palate / Taste

Rich and concentrated, with honey, ripe banana, cinnamon, and pronounced oak character. The high cask-strength bottling gives the whisky substantial body and intensity.

Finish

Long, rounded, mouth-coating, and complex, with lingering honeyed fruit, oak spice, vanilla, and cinnamon.
