Mars Komagatake 2024 Edition is a limited-release Japanese single malt whisky crafted at the Mars Komagatake Distillery in Nagano Prefecture, at the foot of the Komagatake mountain range in Japan's Central Alps.

This expression is created by vatting a selection of malt whiskies, with whiskies matured in ex-Bourbon barrels forming the core, complemented by distinctive spirits matured in Sherry and Wine casks. The combination creates a layered profile that brings together bright orchard fruit, vanilla sweetness, ripe fruit, baked-goods richness, and a gently sherried character.

Bottled at a robust 50% ABV, the 2024 Edition offers a full and expressive presentation of the Komagatake house style while remaining balanced and approachable.

Colour

Bright golden amber.

Nose

Sweet and fruity, with apple tea, green apple, vanilla, and honey. Additional notes of apricot, banana, orange peel, and lightly spiced apple can emerge, adding freshness and complexity.

Palate / Taste

Rich and rounded, showing ripe persimmon, tart fruit, and moist baked goods. Maple-like sweetness, toasted hazelnut, and fruit-jam character contribute additional depth.

Finish

Long and pleasantly lingering, with aromatic, savory sweetness, subtle sherry richness, and a fresh, crisp fruit character.
