Mars Tsunuki 2020 Oloroso Sherry Cask #T1663 Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky 700ml (SG60 Edition)

Mars Single Malt Whisky Tsunuki 2020 Oloroso Sherry Cask #T1663 is an exceptionally limited single-cask Japanese single malt from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan.

Distilled in February 2020 and matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry cask, this whisky was bottled in March 2025 at 58% ABV, retaining its cask-strength character. Only 257 bottles were produced from cask #T1663.

The Oloroso Sherry cask gives the whisky a deep and structured profile, with prominent toasted walnut, noble wood, golden tobacco, autumn leaves, spice, truffle, and leather characteristics. Bottled naturally colored and non-chill filtered, it offers an intense and unrestrained expression of Tsunuki single malt.

This bottling forms part of the exclusive SG60 Edition, a collaboration created to commemorate Singapore's 60th anniversary. It was selected alongside two other Mars single-cask expressions representing different maturation environments and cask styles.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep dark amber.

Nose

Rich and predominantly nutty, with toasted walnut, noble-wood balsamic notes, golden tobacco, and autumn leaves. The Oloroso influence contributes depth and an elegant dried character.

Palate / Taste

Full-flavoured and structured, with rich sherry character, toasted nuts, dark fruit, warm spice, and woody depth. The substantial 58% ABV gives the palate concentration and weight.

Finish

Long and warming, with spice, truffle, leather, toasted wood, and lingering sherry richness.
