Domaine Vincent Delaporte Sancerre Cul de Beaujeu 2019 3L Jeroboam
Domaine Vincent Delaporte Sancerre "Cul de Beaujeu" 2019 is an exceptional single-vineyard red wine from the prestigious Sancerre appellation in France's Loire Valley. Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, this distinguished cuvée showcases the depth, elegance and complexity that can be achieved from the region's finest vineyard sites.
The wine comes from the historic Cul de Beaujeu vineyard, an exceptional hillside terroir of Kimmeridgian marl. Established by the monks of Beaujeu during the Middle Ages, this historic vineyard is particularly renowned for its distinctive soil composition and its importance in the winemaking heritage of Sancerre.
Managed by Matthieu Delaporte, the estate follows a careful approach to viticulture, emphasizing lower yields, manual harvesting and sustainable vineyard practices. The grapes are entirely destemmed, manually sorted and fermented in stainless steel vats for approximately 12 days, with regular pigeage to develop colour, structure and aromatic complexity.
Malolactic fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels that have been used for one to five years. The wine is subsequently matured for 12 months in 228-litre oak barrels, allowing it to develop depth, texture and complexity while maintaining the natural character of Pinot Noir.
The 2019 vintage delivers an expressive combination of dark fruit, roasted coffee, cocoa, black cherry and subtle savoury nuances. Its generous texture, silky tannins and remarkable persistence make it an outstanding example of structured and age-worthy red Sancerre.
Presented in a magnificent 3-litre Jeroboam bottle, equivalent to four standard 750ml bottles, this format is ideal for prestigious celebrations, fine dining and serious wine collections. The larger bottle format also provides favourable conditions for gradual maturation when stored correctly.
