Aldo Rainoldi Fruttaio Ca’ Rizzieri 2021 is a powerful and elegant Sforzato di Valtellina crafted from 100% Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca) by one of the most respected producers in the Alpine wine region of Valtellina. Produced only in the finest vintages, this wine represents the pinnacle of Rainoldi’s traditional mountain winemaking and the unique expression of Nebbiolo grown on steep terraced vineyards in Lombardy.
The wine is made using the traditional “Sfursat” method, where carefully selected Nebbiolo grapes are naturally dried for approximately 2–3 months after harvest. This appassimento process concentrates flavours, sugars, and structure while preserving the grape’s alpine freshness and aromatic complexity.
The 2021 vintage delivers exceptional concentration balanced by finesse and minerality. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures, followed by extended maturation in French oak barriques and additional bottle ageing before release. The result is a deeply layered wine with remarkable structure, elegance, and long ageing potential.
Rainoldi is widely regarded as one of the benchmark estates of Valtellina, helping establish the global reputation of mountain Nebbiolo wines for their precision, complexity, and longevity.
