Aldo Rainoldi Vigna Degli Apostoli 2018 is a prestigious single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the historic Valtellina region in Lombardy, northern Italy. Crafted by the renowned Casa Vinicola Aldo Rainoldi, this wine comes from the celebrated Sassella subzone, an area famous for producing elegant, mineral-driven expressions of Nebbiolo known locally as Chiavennasca.
Produced only in the finest vintages, “Vigna Degli Apostoli” is sourced from steep terraced vineyards near the Sassella sanctuary, where iron-rich alpine soils and dramatic mountain conditions create wines of finesse, structure, and longevity. The 2018 vintage delivered exceptional balance and aromatic purity, emphasizing elegance over sheer power.
The wine is aged in large oak barrels for approximately 26 months, followed by additional steel tank resting and at least 36 months of bottle refinement before release. This extended maturation gives the wine remarkable harmony, complexity, and ageing potential while preserving the delicate alpine freshness characteristic of Valtellina Nebbiolo.
Aldo Rainoldi is widely respected as one of the benchmark producers of Valtellina wines, helping elevate the region’s global reputation for refined mountain Nebbiolo.
