Allegrini Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2020 750ml
Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2020 is one of the benchmark Amarone wines of Italy, crafted by the prestigious Allegrini family, whose winemaking heritage in Valpolicella dates back to the 16th century. Produced from estate vineyards in Marezzane and Villa Cavarena, situated between 450–520 metres above sea level, this iconic wine reflects the perfect harmony between traditional Amarone production and modern precision. The limestone-rich, well-drained hillside soils contribute exceptional elegance, freshness, and remarkable ageing potential.
The 2020 vintage is crafted from 45% Corvina Veronese, 45% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Oseleta. After meticulous hand harvesting in late September, the grapes undergo the traditional appassimento process, naturally drying for approximately 3–4 months, losing around 40–45% of their original weight. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 25 days, followed by ageing in new and second-use French barriques for 18 months, an additional 7 months in large oak casks, and at least 14 months in bottle before release. The result is a powerful yet refined Amarone with exceptional complexity and balance.
