Allegrini La Poja Monovitigno Corvina Veronese IGT 2015 750ml
Allegrini La Poja Monovitigno Corvina Veronese IGT 2015 is the iconic single-vineyard flagship wine of the Allegrini estate and one of the world's finest expressions of 100% Corvina Veronese. First produced in 1983, La Poja was born from the visionary decision of Giovanni Allegrini to plant Corvina exclusively on the summit of the historic La Grola hill. This small triangular vineyard, surrounded by cypress trees and overlooking Lake Garda, features white limestone soils that impart exceptional elegance, minerality, and longevity to the wine.
The exceptional 2015 vintage benefited from warm, balanced growing conditions, producing grapes of outstanding concentration and phenolic ripeness. The fruit is hand-harvested in early October at optimal maturity before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over 12–15 days. The wine is then matured for 20 months in new French Allier oak barriques, followed by 8 months in large Slavonian oak casks and at least 10 months in bottle before release. This meticulous ageing regime creates a wine of extraordinary finesse, depth, and remarkable ageing potential.
