Almaviva “EPU” 2023 is a premium Chilean red wine produced by Viña Almaviva in the renowned Puente Alto area of the Maipo Valley. EPU is the second wine of Almaviva and reflects the estate's commitment to producing refined, Bordeaux-inspired blends from exceptional Chilean terroir.

The 2023 vintage combines Cabernet Sauvignon with complementary Bordeaux varieties to create a wine that balances ripe dark fruit, freshness, structure and elegant oak influence. The palate is layered with blackcurrant, blackberry, plum and cherry, accompanied by subtle floral, herbal, spice and cedar notes.

Fine-grained tannins provide structure and length, while refreshing acidity maintains balance. The wine offers the sophistication of a premium Maipo Valley red while remaining more approachable in its youth than a highly structured first-growth-style wine.

Colour:

Deep ruby red with intense crimson and purple reflections.

Nose: Expressive and refined with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum, accompanied by violet, cedar, tobacco, graphite and subtle herbal and spicy nuances.

Palate: Full-bodied yet balanced, with concentrated dark berry and blackcurrant flavours. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while fresh acidity brings energy and definition. Notes of cedar, graphite, dark chocolate, herbs and subtle spice add complexity.

Finish: Long, persistent and elegant with lingering blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite and fine tannins.
