Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 is an iconic expression of Brunello from Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy's most prestigious wine families with over 600 years of winemaking heritage. Produced exclusively from 100% Sangiovese, the wine originates from the Tenuta Pian delle Vigne estate, located approximately 6 km southwest of Montalcino. The estate spans 184 hectares, including around 65 hectares of vineyards, planted predominantly on south-west-facing slopes at an altitude of approximately 130 metres above sea level. The clay-limestone soils, rich in small stones, provide the ideal terroir for producing Brunello with exceptional elegance, freshness, and ageing potential.

The 2018 vintage experienced a cooler spring with frequent rainfall, providing excellent water reserves before a balanced summer ensured slow, even ripening. Following meticulous vineyard management and selective harvesting between 21 September and early October, the grapes underwent gentle destemming and soft pressing before fermenting in stainless steel tanks with approximately 12 days of maceration at 28°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for two years in large oak casks (30–80 hl), followed by extended bottle ageing. Antinori's philosophy of ageing exclusively in large oak casks preserves the purity of Sangiovese fruit while delivering the vibrant elegance that defines Pian delle Vigne.
