Ao Yun Yunnan 2018 is a distinguished red wine from the high-altitude vineyards of Shangri-La in Yunnan, China. Produced by Ao Yun, the wine is crafted from a Bordeaux-inspired blend complemented by Syrah, combining Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The vineyards are situated at approximately 2,200–2,600 metres above sea level, contributing to the wine's distinctive freshness, aromatic intensity and mineral character.
The 2018 vintage displays a concentrated yet refined style, with layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry and dark plum supported by floral, herbal, earthy and spicy nuances. Fine-grained tannins and lively acidity provide structure and freshness, while subtle oak contributes notes of toast, smoke and clove.
