Badia a Coltibuono Sangioveto di Toscana 2020 is a flagship Tuscan Sangiovese crafted by one of Chianti’s most historic and respected estates. Produced only in the best vintages, “Sangioveto” is a pure expression of organically farmed Sangiovese and pays homage to the ancient Tuscan name once used for the grape variety itself.

Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Gaiole in Chianti, the 2020 vintage benefited from a balanced growing season with warm summer conditions and refreshing September rainfall, resulting in wines with concentration, freshness, and excellent structure. The estate’s organic vineyard practices and traditional winemaking philosophy emphasize terroir transparency, finesse, and long ageing potential.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts in small vessels and manually punched down during maceration, the wine is then aged for 20–24 months in barriques, followed by additional maturation in oak vats and bottle refinement. The result is a powerful yet elegant Sangiovese with layered aromatics, refined tannins, and exceptional ageing capacity.

The 2020 release has received strong critical acclaim, including Tre Bicchieri recognition from Gambero Rosso and high scores from international critics, reinforcing its status as one of Tuscany’s benchmark Sangiovese wines.
