Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2011 is one of Italy's most legendary Amarone wines, crafted by Bertani, the historic winery founded in 1857 and widely regarded as the benchmark producer of traditional Amarone. Produced from 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella, the grapes are sourced exclusively from Tenuta Novare in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. The limestone and basalt-rich soils, combined with meticulous vineyard management and Bertani's unwavering commitment to traditional winemaking, create a wine celebrated for its elegance, structure, and extraordinary longevity.
The outstanding 2011 vintage benefited from a rainy winter, a warm and dry spring, and regular summer rainfall, producing perfectly healthy grapes with exceptional concentration and balance. After hand harvesting, the grapes underwent a traditional appassimento process, naturally drying for approximately 120 days before slow fermentation. The wine was then matured for 7 years in 60-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, followed by at least one year of bottle ageing before release. This extended maturation produces an Amarone of immense complexity, remarkable freshness, and exceptional ageing potential measured in decades.

Nose:
Complex aromas of preserved cherries, plum, candied citrus peel, tea leaves, liquorice, cocoa, sweet spices, dried herbs, and subtle balsamic nuances.
Palate:
Full-bodied and beautifully structured with concentrated flavours of Amarena cherry, dried plum, blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate, tobacco, sweet spice, and savoury herbs. Dense yet refined tannins are balanced by vibrant acidity, creating a wine of exceptional precision, freshness, and elegance.
Finish:
Exceptionally long, savoury, and persistent with lingering notes of dried fruits, cedar, tobacco, spice, mineral complexity, and a beautifully dry finish.
