Boll & Cie Grande Reserve 2001 Champagne is a rare Blanc de Blancs vintage Champagne produced entirely from Chardonnay sourced from a single Grand Cru vineyard in Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most renowned villages of the Côte des Blancs. The wine is a single-vineyard, monopole expression, highlighting the purity and mineral character of Grand Cru Chardonnay.
The 2001 vintage was given an exceptionally long maturation period, spending approximately 18 years on its lees before being disgorged in 2019. This extended ageing has contributed considerable depth and complexity, with mature notes of baked apple, toasted bread, brioche, almond and nuts.
Produced in an extremely limited quantity of only 2,001 bottles worldwide, this Champagne offers a distinctive combination of mature vintage character, Grand Cru Chardonnay and remarkable rarity. It is an especially attractive bottle for collectors and enthusiasts seeking an older, limited-production Champagne.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep golden yellow with mature golden reflections.
Nose: Powerful and expressive, with baked apple, ripe fruit, toasted notes and subtle nutty nuances.
Palate: Dry and firm, with mineral freshness complemented by almond, toasted bread and brioche. Mature and complex with excellent depth.
