Bolla Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2020 is a classic expression of Amarone from the historic Valpolicella Classica in Veneto. Bolla has a long association with the region and is recognised for its traditional Venetian wines. The wine is produced from the area's traditional grape varieties, with Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella forming the core of the blend.
The grapes undergo the traditional appassimento process, where they are dried before fermentation to concentrate their sugars, flavours and aromas. The 2020 vintage is then matured in a combination of barriques and large Slavonian oak barrels, developing additional depth and complexity. Sources consistently list the wine at 15% ABV.
On the palate, this is a powerful yet rounded Amarone, showing ripe dark fruit, plum, cherry, spice and subtle balsamic and chocolate nuances. Oak ageing contributes cedar and spice notes, while its soft texture and balanced tannins make it approachable despite its concentration.
