Bonnet Cotton Brouilly Bonnege 2020 750ml

Bonnet-Cotton Brouilly "Bonnege" 2020 is a distinctive Beaujolais Cru red wine made from 100% Gamay from the Bonnège parcel in Brouilly. The 2020 vintage is particularly notable because it was the final year the Bonnet-Cotton family was able to harvest from this parcel, making the cuvée an especially limited expression of the domaine.
The wine comes from approximately 65-year-old vines planted on pink granite soils. It is produced using spontaneous semi-carbonic maceration in concrete vats and aged for around eight months in large old foudres, preserving the wine's vibrant fruit, freshness and distinctive mineral character. The wine is certified organic and made with minimal intervention.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Cloudy ruby red with bright youthful reflections.

Nose:
Aromatic and expressive with ripe red fruits, stewed strawberry, rhubarb, herbs, earthy nuances and subtle mineral notes.

Palate:
Fresh and fruit-driven with cherry, strawberry and darker red and black fruit flavours. Medium acidity and fine tannins provide structure, while earthy and mineral notes add complexity.

Finish:
Fresh and lingering with red fruit, gentle herbal character, earthy notes and a subtle mineral finish.
