Ca' Rugate Amarone Della Valpolicella 2018 750ml
Ca' Rugate Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2018 is the flagship Amarone from the renowned family-owned Ca' Rugate winery. Crafted from a meticulous selection of estate-grown grapes from the Punta 470 vineyard in the hills of Montecchia di Crosara, this elegant Amarone showcases the winery's philosophy of balancing richness with freshness. The vineyard sits at approximately 470 metres above sea level on limestone-rich soils, producing grapes with exceptional concentration, vibrant acidity, and remarkable ageing potential.
Produced from 45% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, and 15% Rondinella, the grapes are hand-harvested during the second half of September and undergo the traditional appassimento process, drying naturally for 4–5 months to concentrate sugars, flavours, and phenolic compounds. Fermentation takes place during the following winter before the wine is matured for 25–30 months in 500-litre oak tonneaux and 25-hectolitre oak casks, followed by approximately 10 months of bottle ageing. The result is a powerful yet refined Amarone with outstanding complexity, structure, and longevity.
