Cascina Fontana Barolo del Comune di Castiglione Falletto 2021 is a traditional Piedmontese Barolo made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the historic commune of Castiglione Falletto. The wine expresses the classic character of Nebbiolo through its combination of aromatic complexity, firm structure, silky tannins and pronounced mineral freshness.

The grapes are hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts, followed by extended maceration. The wine is traditionally matured for approximately 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by further refinement in cement tanks and bottle. It is unfiltered and may naturally develop some sediment with age.

Colour:

Bright garnet red with delicate ruby reflections.

Nose:

Complex and aromatic with dried flowers, rose petals, red fruit preserves, cherry and subtle notes of sweet spice, cocoa, menthol, tobacco and earthy forest floor.

Palate:

Elegant and structured with concentrated red fruit, cherry and plum flavours. Silky, enveloping tannins combine with pronounced mineral freshness, while subtle spice, cocoa and balsamic nuances add complexity.

Finish:

Long, persistent and refined with lingering red fruit, dried flowers, spice, menthol and mineral notes.
