Cascina Fontana Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 750ml

Cascina Fontana Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 is a traditional Piedmontese red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the historic Castello vineyard in Sinio, Lirano and Mombello vineyards, together with fruit from the Il Pozzo vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. The combination of these sites creates a wine that balances Nebbiolo's characteristic structure with freshness, elegance and aromatic complexity.

The wine undergoes a shorter vinification of approximately two weeks compared with the estate's Barolo, producing a fresher and more approachable expression while retaining Nebbiolo's characteristic tannins and acidity. It is matured for approximately one year in a combination of large oak casks and used barriques before further bottle ageing.

The 2020 vintage was characterized by good balance, freshness and structure in the Langhe. Cascina Fontana describes the vintage's wines as juicy, fresh, complex and well structured.

Brilliant garnet red with vibrant ruby reflections.

Nose:

Intense and elegant with aromas of rose petals, fresh wild strawberries and red berries, accompanied by subtle balsamic and herbal nuances.

Palate:

Fresh, dry and harmonious with flavours of wild strawberry, red cherry and delicate red berries. Silky tannins provide structure, while lively acidity contributes freshness and balance.

Finish:

Long, dry and savoury with lingering red fruit, floral and subtle balsamic notes.
