Cascina Fontana Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 750ml

Cascina Fontana Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 is a traditional Piedmontese red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from historic vineyards in Sinio and Castiglione Falletto, including Castello, Lirano, Mombello and Il Pozzo. The wine offers an elegant and approachable expression of Nebbiolo, combining fragrant red fruit, floral character, freshness and fine tannins.

The Nebbiolo undergoes a shorter vinification than the estate's Barolo, producing a wine that is fresher and more immediately approachable while retaining the grape's characteristic acidity and tannic structure. It is matured for approximately one year in a combination of oak vessels, followed by additional time in cement and bottle before release.

The 2023 vintage produced wines described by Cascina Fontana as fresh, fruity and particularly approachable, with less emphasis on heavy structure and balsamic character.

Colour:

Brilliant garnet red with bright, transparent ruby reflections.

Nose:

Intense and elegant with aromas of rose petals, fresh wild strawberries, red cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle balsamic, floral and delicate spice nuances.

Palate:

Fresh, juicy and harmonious with flavours of candied red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry. Fine, silky tannins provide structure, while lively acidity gives the wine freshness and energy.

Finish:

Long, dry and savoury with lingering red fruit, floral, balsamic and subtle mineral notes.
