Cascina Fontana Barbera d Alba 2020 750ml

Cascina Fontana Barbera d'Alba 2020 is a traditional Piedmontese red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the Langhe area within the Barolo production zone. Produced by the Fontana family, the wine reflects the estate's traditional approach to winemaking and the natural freshness and vitality characteristic of Barbera.

The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. The wine is matured for approximately one year in a combination of used Slavonian oak foudres and cement tanks before being bottled and further refined in the cellar. This traditional approach preserves the wine's vibrant fruit character while adding depth and elegance.

The 2020 vintage displays a deep ruby colour with expressive aromas of red roses, cherry jam and wild woodland fruits. On the palate, lively acidity and a full-flavoured character are balanced by relatively low tannins, with flavours of sour cherry, blackberry, spice and subtle mineral notes.
