Castello Romitorio “Romitorio” 2022 is a bold and expressive Super Tuscan red from the historic Castello Romitorio estate in Montalcino. Formerly known in some markets as “Romitoro,” this cuvée represents a modern, fruit-driven interpretation of Tuscan winemaking, blending international grape varieties with the estate’s signature focus on richness, texture, and aromatic intensity.

The 2022 vintage is widely regarded as powerful and generous, shaped by a warm growing season that delivered ripe, concentrated fruit while still retaining freshness in the best parcels. The blend is typically Syrah- and Petit Verdot-driven, giving the wine its deep colour, plush texture, and spicy, dark-fruit profile. Critics have scored the wine highly, noting its polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and expressive aromatics.

Vinification is carried out with temperature-controlled fermentation and careful extraction, followed by ageing in stainless steel, concrete, and oak to preserve fruit purity while adding structure. The result is a modern Tuscan red that sits between Rhône-style power and Bordeaux-like structure, with a distinctly Mediterranean character.
