Cayuse Cailloux 2019 750ml

Cayuse "Cailloux" 2019 is a distinctive single-vineyard Syrah from Cayuse Vineyards' Cailloux Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley. The 2019 vintage is co-fermented with 4% Viognier, giving the wine an elegant floral lift and a Côte-Rôtie-inspired character. It combines sweet black raspberry and currant fruit with orange zest, spring flowers, violet, leafy herbs, charcoal, spice and savory notes. The wine is medium to full-bodied with vibrant acidity, ultra-fine tannins and a long, layered finish.

Deep ruby-purple with violet reflections.

Nose:
Highly aromatic with black raspberry, currant, red and white flowers, orange zest, potpourri, violet, leafy herbs, charcoal and subtle peppery spice.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied with sweet black raspberry and dark currant flavours alongside savory meat, floral, herbal and mineral nuances. Vibrant acidity and ultra-fine tannins provide balance and structure.

Finish:
Long, persistent and layered with lingering dark fruit, rose petals, spice, violet and savory mineral notes.
