The Château La Fleur de Boüard Lalande-de-Pomerol 2018 is the flagship wine of Château La Fleur de Boüard, one of the most highly regarded estates in Lalande-de-Pomerol. Founded by Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of the prestigious Château Angélus, the estate has become a benchmark for modern Right Bank Bordeaux through meticulous vineyard management, sustainable farming, and precision winemaking. The vineyards extend across Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac, where clay-loam, gravel, and clay-rich soils provide ideal conditions for cultivating Merlot-dominant blends with richness, elegance, and remarkable ageing potential.

The outstanding 2018 vintage is crafted from 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes undergo cold pre-fermentation maceration before fermentation in the estate's signature gravity-assisted inverted cone-shaped tanks, allowing for gentle extraction of colour and tannins. The wine is then matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, using a selection of Bordeaux and Burgundy coopers, resulting in exceptional depth, silky tannins, and refined complexity. The warm vintage produced a wine of generous black fruit, floral aromatics, spice, and remarkable freshness, making it both approachable in youth and capable of long-term cellaring.
