Les Forts de Latour 2016 is the distinguished second wine of Château Latour, one of Pauillac's most prestigious estates. Produced from carefully selected parcels and crafted with the same attention to detail as the Grand Vin, this vintage combines the power and structure associated with Latour with a more approachable expression of ripe fruit and refined tannins. The 2016 blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc.
The wine displays impressive concentration and depth, with ripe black fruits, cassis, graphite, tobacco and subtle spice. Its firm yet polished tannins, lively acidity and mineral-driven finish give it excellent structure and long-term cellaring potential.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Deep garnet to dark ruby with excellent intensity.

Nose:
A complex bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry and violet layered with graphite, cedar, tobacco, cigar box, spice and subtle earthy notes.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and beautifully balanced, showing ripe black fruits, cassis and wild berries supported by fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a mineral backbone.
Finish:
Long, persistent and elegant, with lingering notes of graphite, tobacco, dark fruit, spice and minerals.
