The Château Pichon Comtesse Réserve Pauillac 2021 750ml is the second wine of Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, one of Pauillac's most prestigious estates and a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.

Produced from carefully selected fruit from the estate's vineyards, Réserve de Pichon Comtesse offers an approachable interpretation of the château's Pauillac style while retaining the estate's characteristic elegance, freshness and Cabernet-driven structure.

The 2021 vintage was a challenging Bordeaux growing season, with spring frost, uneven flowering and a cooler summer. However, a favourable late season allowed the best vineyards to achieve good maturity while retaining vibrant acidity. The resulting wine places greater emphasis on freshness, precision and elegant fruit character rather than the power and concentration seen in warmer vintages.

The blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties. It displays aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum and dark cherry, complemented by violet, cedar, graphite, tobacco and subtle spice.

On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with fresh acidity, polished tannins and a refined mineral character. It offers the structure and savoury complexity associated with Pauillac while remaining approachable at a younger stage than the estate's Grand Vin.
