The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Pauillac Grand Cru Classé 2006 750ml is the prestigious Grand Vin of one of Pauillac's most celebrated estates. Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is renowned for producing Pauillac wines that combine Cabernet Sauvignon's structure with remarkable elegance and finesse.
The 2006 vintage produced structured and classic Bordeaux wines, with a growing season that benefited from a warm, dry summer before a more challenging harvest period. Careful selection was particularly important, allowing leading estates such as Pichon Comtesse de Lalande to produce wines with good concentration, freshness and ageing potential.
The wine is built around Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot. It displays the classic Pauillac combination of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum and dark cherry, alongside more developed notes of cedar, graphite, tobacco, leather and spice.
After two decades of bottle development, the 2006 vintage offers an appealing balance between mature Bordeaux complexity and remaining dark-fruit character. The palate is structured yet refined, with integrated tannins and a long, savoury finish.
