The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Pauillac Grand Cru Classé 2023 750ml is the prestigious Grand Vin of one of Pauillac's most celebrated estates. Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande is renowned for producing wines that combine the power and structure of Pauillac with exceptional elegance and finesse.
The 2023 vintage produced a particularly attractive style of Bordeaux, with a growing season that combined periods of warmth with beneficial rainfall. The conditions allowed the grapes to develop excellent aromatic intensity and ripe tannins while maintaining freshness and balance.
The wine is crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot. It displays an expressive profile of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry and plum, complemented by violet, graphite, cedar, tobacco and subtle spice.
On the palate, the 2023 offers impressive concentration without excessive heaviness. Fresh acidity provides precision, while refined, fine-grained tannins create a long and structured finish. Nose:
Intense and refined with aromas of cassis, blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum, layered with violet, graphite, cedar, tobacco and subtle sweet spice.
Palate:
Full-bodied and concentrated with flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry and plum. Fine-grained tannins provide structure and depth, while vibrant acidity brings freshness and precision. Elegant notes of graphite, cedar, tobacco and spice add complexity.
Finish:
Exceptionally long, fresh and persistent with lingering cassis, dark fruit, graphite, cedar and finely polished tannins.
