The La Salle de Château Poujeaux 2016 is the elegant second wine of the renowned Château Poujeaux, one of the benchmark estates of Moulis-en-Médoc. Named after the estate's historic origins, La Salle de Château Poujeaux is crafted from younger vines and selected vineyard parcels while following the same meticulous viticultural and winemaking philosophy as the Grand Vin. It offers a more approachable expression of the estate's classic Left Bank style, combining freshness, structure, and exceptional value.
The outstanding 2016 vintage, regarded as one of Bordeaux's greatest in recent decades, produced grapes with remarkable concentration, freshness, and balance. The blend is composed of 57% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is then matured in French oak barrels to soften the tannins while preserving the purity of fruit. The result is a polished, fruit-driven Bordeaux with the elegance and structure typical of Château Poujeaux.
