Chateau Rongzi Collection Cuvee I 2012 750ml
Chateau Rongzi Collection Cuvée I 2012 is a refined and mature Bordeaux-style red blend from Shanxi, China, showcasing the remarkable potential of high-altitude vineyards on the Loess Plateau.
Produced from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 11% Marselan and 2% Merlot, the wine combines classic Bordeaux structure with the distinctive freshness and character of Shanxi's high-elevation terroir.
The wine displays complex tertiary aromas of sandalwood, blackcurrant and cassis, supported by subtle cedar, tobacco and earthy nuances. On the palate, mature dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and fully evolved tannins, creating an elegant and polished texture.
Aged for 12 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, including 37% new oak, and subsequently matured in bottle, the Collection Cuvée I has developed additional tertiary complexity and a long, persistent finish.
The wine forms part of the limited Rongzi Collection, a series in which selected wines are held by the winery until they reach a more mature stage of development.
