Clos Du Mont Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Cuvee du Papet" 2019 is a prestigious French red wine produced by Clos du Mont-Olivet in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the Southern Rhône Valley. As the estate's flagship cuvée, it is made only in exceptional vintages from carefully selected old vines, including Grenache vines dating back to 1901, complemented by Mourvèdre and Syrah.
The 2019 vintage showcases remarkable concentration, depth and aromatic complexity. Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry are complemented by black pepper, liquorice, Mediterranean herbs, leather and graphite. On the palate, the wine is powerful and full-bodied, combining ripe dark fruit with firm yet refined tannins, balanced freshness and an exceptionally long finish.
Traditional winemaking methods, including fermentation with a proportion of whole clusters and ageing primarily in large oak foudres, help preserve the wine's distinctive terroir and fruit expression. The result is an intense yet elegant Rhône blend with impressive structure and considerable ageing potential.
The 750ml bottle is an excellent choice for serious collectors, premium wine enthusiasts and special occasions. Its rich fruit, savoury complexity and substantial structure make it particularly well suited to roasted meats, game, slow-cooked dishes and richly flavoured Mediterranean cuisine.
