Currach Atlantic Wakame Sake Cask Finish 58.1%

The ‘Singapore Edition’, bottled for Friends of Quaich Bar, Currach Single Malt Irish Whiskey – Atlantic Wakame Seaweed, Sake Cask Finish, Cask Strength, Single Cask bottling is a world’s first for Irish Whiskey. Just 264 bottles.

Made from 100% Irish malted barley, it is a triple distilled single malt Irish whiskey, initially matured in 1st fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Atlantic Wakame seaweed charred virgin American oak casks. For this special bottling they have then given the whiskey an additional finishing in a cask seasoned with Tokubetsu Junmai Sake from the renowned Niigata region in Japan.

The additional Sake cask finish adds delicate hints of sweet rice and floral fruits to the unique briny yet sweet maritime notes and green tea undertones that the Wakame charred casks provide. This limited-edition bottling is non-chill filtered, with no caramel colouring, and is bottled at natural cask strength.
