CVNE Vina Real Gran Reserva Especial 2016 750ml

CVNE Viña Real Gran Reserva Especial 2016 is a distinguished Rioja Gran Reserva produced from carefully selected grapes from Viña Real's own vineyards in Rioja Alavesa. Primarily made from Tempranillo with a small proportion of Graciano, the wine expresses the depth and elegance associated with mature Rioja.

The grapes come from small, south-facing parcels in Laguardia, Elciego and Labastida, located between 500 and 650 metres above sea level. After fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged for approximately 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a minimum of three years of bottle ageing to develop additional complexity and roundness.

Tasting Notes

Colour:

Bright ruby-red with garnet reflections and a deep colour intensity.

Nose:

Highly complex and aromatic, showing ripe red and black fruits alongside coffee, spices, toasted oak, balsamic notes and dried fruits.

Palate:

Smooth and full-bodied with an unctuous texture. Ripe fruit and oak-derived flavours are supported by fresh acidity and finely integrated, sweet tannins, leading to a structured and concentrated palate.

Finish:

Long, intense and persistent, with lingering ripe fruit, spice, toasted, balsamic and subtle nutty notes. The wine has excellent potential for further bottle development.
