The Domaine Dureuil-Janthial Rully "Chêne" Blanc 2023 is one of the benchmark single-vineyard Chardonnays from Rully, crafted by the acclaimed Vincent Dureuil. Sourced from the renowned Chêne climat, this wine showcases the domaine's signature style of purity, precision, and mineral-driven elegance. Domaine Dureuil-Janthial is widely regarded as one of the leading estates in the Côte Chalonnaise, consistently producing wines that rival many of Burgundy's more prestigious appellations.
The Chêne vineyard takes its name from the oak forests ("chênes") that once covered the site before vines were planted. The Chardonnay vines, planted in 1975, grow on white limestone marl soils that naturally produce taut, chiselled wines with remarkable ageing potential. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand before being gently whole-cluster pressed without crushing. Following a 48-hour static settling, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, with 20% new oak supplied exclusively by Tonnellerie Chassin. The wine is then matured for 12 months in barrel followed by 6 months in stainless steel, before bottling according to the lunar calendar, preserving freshness, purity, and terroir expression.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Brilliant pale gold with shimmering green reflections.
Nose:
Elegant aromas of lemon zest, ripe pear, white peach, citrus blossom, white flowers, freshly baked brioche, toasted hazelnut, and wet stone minerality.

Medium-bodied with remarkable tension and precision. Layers of citrus, orchard fruits, white peach, and pear are supported by vibrant acidity, chalky minerality, subtle oak spice, and a creamy texture that adds depth without overshadowing the fruit.
Finish:
Long, crisp, and mineral-driven with lingering citrus, toasted almond, saline freshness, and impressive persistence.
