The Domaine Tournon "Landsborough" Pyrenees Chardonnay 2021 is a premium 100% Chardonnay crafted by Domaine Tournon, the Australian estate established by the renowned Rhône producer M. Chapoutier. Located in the cool-climate Pyrenees region of Victoria, the estate combines French winemaking expertise with Australia's exceptional terroir to produce elegant, terroir-driven wines with purity and finesse.
The 2021 vintage comes from vineyards surrounding the township of Landsborough, where elevated sites and cool growing conditions allow Chardonnay to ripen slowly while preserving vibrant natural acidity. The vines are planted on quartz, shale, and ironstone-rich soils, producing fruit with remarkable precision and mineral character. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently whole-bunch pressed, and fermented using indigenous yeasts. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, with a restrained proportion of new oak, and aged on fine lees with regular bâtonnage, creating a Chardonnay that balances richness, freshness, and complexity.
