The Domaine Tournon "Lady's Lane" Heathcote Shiraz 2012 is a mature and beautifully evolved 100% Shiraz from the acclaimed Heathcote region of Victoria, Australia. Produced by Domaine Tournon, the Australian estate founded by legendary Rhône winemaker Michel Chapoutier, this wine combines the precision of French winemaking with the richness and distinctive terroir of Australia's ancient soils. After more than a decade of bottle ageing, the 2012 vintage displays remarkable complexity, elegance, and harmony.
The fruit originates from vineyards planted on Heathcote's iconic Cambrian red soils, among the oldest soils on Earth, renowned for their ironstone content, excellent drainage, and ability to produce intensely concentrated Shiraz with exceptional structure. The grapes were hand-harvested, traditionally fermented with careful extraction to preserve fruit purity and refined tannins before being matured in French oak barrels. Years of bottle maturation have allowed the wine to integrate seamlessly, revealing tertiary aromas while retaining vibrant fruit and freshness—a hallmark of Chapoutier's balanced winemaking philosophy.
