Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2015 is an elegant and expressive Italian red wine produced by the renowned Emidio Pepe estate in Abruzzo. Crafted from 100% Montepulciano grapes, this vintage showcases the winery's traditional approach to winemaking, emphasizing natural vineyard practices, minimal intervention and the distinctive character of the region's native grape variety.
The 2015 growing season was particularly balanced, with well-timed rainfall and consistent sunshine throughout the year. These favourable conditions allowed the grapes to develop excellent ripeness while maintaining freshness and structural balance.
The wine reveals an expressive combination of red currants, sour cherries, wild berries and floral aromas, complemented by subtle mint, spice and earthy undertones. Its vibrant acidity, fine tannins and elegant texture create a beautifully balanced drinking experience.
Notably, the Pepe family decided to reserve approximately 80% of the 2015 Montepulciano production for extended cellar ageing, reflecting their confidence in the vintage's quality and ageing potential.

Deep ruby red with youthful purple reflections and an intense, vibrant appearance.

Nose:
Expressive and aromatic, revealing fresh mint, red currants, sour cherries, wild berries and delicate floral notes of roses, complemented by subtle pepper and spice.

Palate:
Elegant and concentrated with flavours of sour cherry, strawberry, red currant and wild berries. Fresh acidity provides brightness, while fine-grained tannins contribute structure and balance.

Finish:
Long, refined and persistent, with lingering notes of red fruit, liquorice, pomegranate and delicate spice.
