Fanti Brunello di Montalcino 2020 750ml

Fanti Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is a prestigious Tuscan red wine crafted from 100% Sangiovese grown in the hills surrounding Castelnuovo dell’Abate in Montalcino. The wine represents the character of Tenuta Fanti’s different vineyard sites, combining elegance, structure, freshness and mineral complexity.

The grapes are manually harvested from vineyards located between 150 and 420 metres above sea level. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 36 months of wood ageing, with 60% matured in 30-hectolitre oak barrels and 40% in 500-litre tonneaux. The wine then receives a further 6 months of bottle ageing before release.

The 2020 vintage displays an expressive combination of ripe red fruit, floral, spicy and balsamic characteristics, supported by fresh acidity and firm yet elegant tannins. Its structured character and long ageing potential make it well suited to special occasions and substantial Italian cuisine.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Intense ruby red with garnet reflections developing at the rim.

Nose:
Complex and expressive, with ripe red fruit such as sour cherry, redcurrant and pomegranate, complemented by delicate spice, violet and balsamic nuances.

Palate:
Full-bodied and structured, with concentrated red-fruit flavours, fresh acidity and refined, well-integrated tannins. Notes of cherry, redcurrant, liquorice, herbs and subtle balsamic tones contribute to its complexity.

Finish:
Long and persistent, with lingering red fruit, spice, liquorice and balsamic notes supported by fresh acidity and mineral character.
