Felsina Fontalloro 2018 12L Balthazar

Fèlsina Fontalloro 2018 is a prestigious Tuscan red wine and one of Fèlsina's most representative expressions of Sangiovese. The grapes come from vineyards located across the border between Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi, at elevations of approximately 330–407 metres. The different soils, including stony limestone, clay, sand, silt and marine sediments, contribute to the wine's distinctive complexity and mineral character.
The 2018 vintage combines ripe black cherry and dark berry fruit with tobacco, earth, herbs, spice, liquorice and subtle toasted oak. Vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins provide structure, freshness and excellent ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Rich and intense ruby red with bright tonal depth.

Nose:
Complex and expressive with black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant alongside tobacco, wet earth, aromatic herbs, dark spice and subtle toasted oak.

Palate:
Full-bodied, structured and elegant with ripe black cherry, raspberry, dark berries, mocha and liquorice. Fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide balance and depth.

Finish:
Long and persistent with lingering dark fruit, tobacco, earthy, herbal and mineral notes supported by refined tannins.
