Garbole Heletto Rosso Veneto IGP 2017 is an artisanal, small-production red wine from the boutique Garbole estate in the hills of Tregnago, east of Verona. Produced outside the traditional DOC regulations, Heletto reflects Garbole's philosophy of complete creative freedom, allowing the winery to craft wines without compromise. Often described as a "mini Amarone," Heletto combines the elegance of Veneto's indigenous grape varieties with partial appassimento techniques, delivering remarkable richness, freshness, and complexity.
Crafted primarily from 95% Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, with a small percentage of other indigenous grape varieties, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand over several weeks to ensure optimum ripeness. Following harvest, the fruit undergoes a 20–30 day partial appassimento (natural drying) in small wooden crates before temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is then matured for 36 months in new oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months of bottle ageing, producing a wine of exceptional concentration, silky texture, and outstanding ageing potential.
