Giacomo Montresor Satinato Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2022 is a classic Amarone produced by Casa Vinicola Antonio Montresor, one of Verona's most historic wineries, established in 1892. Crafted in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classica zone, this wine embodies the traditional Amarone style, combining richness, elegance, and remarkable smoothness. The name "Satinato" reflects its silky, velvety texture, making it an approachable yet sophisticated expression of one of Italy's most celebrated red wines.

Produced from a blend of 50% Corvina Veronese, 35% Rondinella, and 15% Molinara, the grapes are hand-harvested and undergo the traditional appassimento process, where they are naturally dried for approximately four months to concentrate flavours and aromas. Following slow fermentation, the wine is matured in Slavonian oak casks and French barriques before bottling, creating a beautifully balanced Amarone with richness, complexity, and excellent ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Deep ruby red with elegant garnet (pomegranate) reflections.

Nose:
Expressive aromas of ripe red berries, black cherry, dried fruits, violets, peach blossom, mint, coffee, chocolate, and delicate sweet spices.

Palate:
Full-bodied, rich, and velvety with flavours of ripe blackberry, bitter cherry, sweet plum, dried grapes, dark chocolate, and warm spices. The supple tannins and vibrant freshness provide excellent balance and elegance despite its concentration.

Finish:
Long, smooth, and persistent with lingering notes of dried cherries, cocoa, spice, and refined oak.
