Giuseppe Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2018 is one of the most iconic and revered expressions of Valpolicella in the world, crafted by the legendary Quintarelli estate in the hills of Veneto. Often referred to as the “masterpiece before Amarone,” this wine transcends the traditional Valpolicella category through meticulous craftsmanship, extraordinary depth, and remarkable ageing potential.

Produced from carefully selected indigenous grapes including Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and small portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Nebbiolo, the wine undergoes a partial appassimento process where a portion of the grapes are dried to concentrate flavour and structure. Following fermentation, the wine is re-passed over Amarone lees using the traditional ripasso method, adding complexity, richness, and textural depth.

The 2018 vintage delivered wines of elegance, freshness, and balance in Veneto, allowing Quintarelli’s signature style to shine with aromatic precision and refined structure. Extended ageing in large Slavonian oak casks further enhances complexity while preserving the wine’s vibrant energy and purity.

This is a deeply layered and collectible Valpolicella that bridges the gap between classic Valpolicella and Amarone, offering extraordinary finesse and longevity.
