Heartland Directors’ Cut Shiraz 2021 is a premium Australian Shiraz from Langhorne Creek, South Australia, crafted from carefully selected fruit from some of the region’s finest Shiraz vineyards. The wine represents Heartland’s flagship expression of Langhorne Creek Shiraz, emphasizing concentration, texture and depth.
The 2021 vintage displays lifted fresh fruit aromas alongside white pepper, fennel, nettle and subtle white truffle. The palate is soft and forward, dominated by blackberry and ripe persimmon, with layers of spice and a long, developing finish. The wine was matured for 14 months in French oak hogsheads, using 60% new and 40% second-fill oak.

Colour:
Deep purple with almost indigo hues.

Nose:
Lifted and expressive with fresh blueberry, blackberry and plum, complemented by white pepper, fennel, nettle, cinnamon, nutmeg and subtle earthy nuances.

Palate:
Rich and mouth-coating with blackberry, ripe persimmon and dark fruit flavours. Fine spice, chocolate and savoury characters add complexity, while natural acidity provides freshness and balance.

Finish:
Long, persistent and spicy with lingering blackberry, white pepper, fennel and delicate savoury notes.
