Il Marroneto Ignaccio Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022 is a premium single-vineyard Rosso di Montalcino crafted by the legendary Il Marroneto estate, one of Montalcino's most respected traditional producers. Produced exclusively from 100% Sangiovese, Ignaccio originates from a carefully selected vineyard with sandy, mineral-rich marine soils that impart exceptional elegance, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Named in honour of the Mori family's grandfather, Ignaccio represents a more serious, terroir-driven interpretation of Rosso di Montalcino, offering remarkable depth while maintaining the vibrant character of young Sangiovese.

The outstanding 2022 vintage benefited from meticulous vineyard selection and traditional winemaking. After gentle destemming, the must rested briefly before spontaneous fermentation in 40-hectolitre oak vats using only indigenous yeasts. Continuous pump-overs were carried out over 13–15 days, followed by 20 months of ageing in large oak casks and an additional 6 months in bottle before release. The result is a Rosso di Montalcino with the complexity of Brunello while retaining youthful fruit purity, freshness, and exceptional drinkability.

Colour:
Brilliant deep ruby red with youthful garnet reflections.

Nose:
Elegant aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry, rose petals, blood orange, tobacco, sweet spices, balsamic herbs, noble wood, and subtle mineral notes.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied with vibrant layers of ripe cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, dark chocolate, bergamot, and savoury herbs, supported by silky tannins, lively acidity, and remarkable mineral freshness. Beautifully balanced with exceptional precision, elegance, and depth.

Finish:
Long, fresh, and persistent with lingering red berries, floral notes, gentle spice, tobacco, and refined mineral complexity.
