The Jade Gross Jabalina 2025 is a highly limited-production Rioja DOCa Rosé crafted by Australian-born winemaker Jade Gross, whose boutique winery in San Vicente de la Sonsierra has quickly gained recognition for producing terroir-driven, minimal-intervention wines. The 2025 vintage marks the fourth release of Jabalina and showcases Jade's continuous pursuit of innovation, with each vintage featuring a unique approach to vinification.

This vintage is produced from an equal blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha Tinta. The Tempranillo is sourced from the estate's La Cantera vineyard in Labastida, where 36-year-old bush vines grow on limestone-sandstone soils at an altitude of approximately 600 metres. The Garnacha originates from 33-year-old vines planted on sandy soils in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Hand-harvested on 14 September 2025, the grapes underwent whole-bunch pressing, followed by fermentation in a 500-litre French oak barrel and six months of ageing on fine lees, resulting in a rosé with remarkable texture, complexity, and freshness. Only approximately 1,070–1,130 individually numbered bottles were produced, making this an exceptionally rare Rioja rosé.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Brilliant pale salmon pink with elegant copper reflections.

Nose:
Expressive aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, white peach, pink grapefruit, rose petals, orange blossom, and delicate mineral nuances, complemented by subtle hints of brioche from lees ageing.

Palate:
Dry, medium-bodied, and beautifully textured with flavours of strawberry, cranberry, redcurrant, citrus zest, white peach, and pomegranate. Lees ageing contributes a creamy mouthfeel, while vibrant acidity and fine minerality provide outstanding balance and precision.

Finish:
Long, fresh, and elegant with lingering red berries, citrus peel, saline minerality, and delicate floral notes.
