The Jade Gross Peace, Love & Garnacha 2024 is a limited-production Rioja DOCa red wine crafted by Australian-born winemaker Jade Gross in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Rioja Alavesa. This is the fifth release of Jade's single-varietal Garnacha and the first vintage produced from her newly acquired vineyard in San Andrés, San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The wine reflects Jade's passion for expressing the elegance and vibrancy of Garnacha through minimal-intervention winemaking and meticulous vineyard management.

Produced from 100% Garnacha, the grapes come from bush-trained vines planted on clay and sandy soils, where the variety develops exceptional aromatic purity and freshness. The fruit was hand-harvested on 29 September 2024, with 80% destemmed before fermentation in open-top stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. The wine was then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels (225L and 500L), with only 10% new oak, allowing the vibrant fruit character to remain at the forefront. Only 2,550 individually numbered bottles were produced, making this an exceptionally rare artisan Rioja.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Bright ruby red with brilliant garnet reflections.

Nose:
Highly aromatic with notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, rose petals, violet, Mediterranean herbs, sweet spice, and subtle mineral nuances, supported by delicate French oak.

Palate:
Medium-bodied and beautifully refined with vibrant flavours of raspberry, red cherry, cranberry, wild strawberry, and pomegranate. Silky tannins, lively acidity, and subtle floral notes are complemented by gentle spice and mineral freshness, creating a beautifully balanced and elegant expression of Garnacha.

Finish:
Long, fresh, and perfumed with lingering red berries, floral notes, soft spice, and elegant minerality.
