The Julien Pilon Condrieu Lône 2022 is an outstanding 100% Viognier from the prestigious Condrieu AOC in France's Northern Rhône Valley. Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Julien Pilon, this cuvée is named "Lône", a Rhône term referring to the secondary channels and branches of the Rhône River. It is Julien's signature Condrieu, showcasing the aromatic richness of Viognier while maintaining remarkable freshness, finesse, and minerality.

The 2022 vintage is sourced from five exceptional vineyard sites—Jeanraude, Verlieu, Peyrolland, Sainte-Agathe, and Bassenon—located on steep south and south-east-facing granite slopes overlooking the Rhône River. The vineyards are planted at a high density of approximately 9,000 vines per hectare, with all vineyard work carried out manually. Each parcel is hand-harvested and vinified separately, followed by gentle pressing, strict settling of the juice, slow low-temperature fermentation, and complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is matured for 10 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, with around 10% new oak, adding subtle complexity while preserving the purity and freshness of the Viognier fruit.

Colour:
Brilliant golden yellow with luminous amber highlights.

Nose:
Intense aromas of ripe apricot, white peach, jasmine, acacia blossom, orange blossom, beeswax, violet, and delicate hints of spice and honey.

Palate:
Full-bodied and silky with flavours of ripe peach, apricot, mango, citrus peel, and tropical fruits. Rich and generous, yet beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity and a distinctive saline minerality derived from the granite soils. Fine oak integration adds texture without masking the wine's aromatic purity.

Finish:
Long, elegant, and persistent with lingering floral notes, stone fruits, citrus zest, gentle spice, and refreshing mineral tension.
