Crafted by Domaine Julien Pilon, this boutique cuvée reflects the estate's philosophy of producing wines with precision, finesse, and purity rather than sheer power. "La Porchette" is Julien Pilon's interpretation of Côte-Rôtie, combining the appellation's hallmark floral perfume with refined structure and exceptional drinkability.

The 2022 vintage is sourced from carefully selected hillside vineyards planted on the region's renowned granitic soils, where steep slopes and optimal sun exposure produce Syrah of remarkable concentration and aromatic complexity. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently fermented with careful extraction to preserve elegance, and matured in French oak barrels, where the oak is seamlessly integrated to complement rather than dominate the fruit. The result is a beautifully balanced Côte-Rôtie with vibrant fruit, silky tannins, and impressive ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Deep ruby red with violet reflections.

Nose:
Refined aromas of ripe red and black berries, smoked bacon, cracked black pepper, violets, graphite, cedar, and subtle smoky nuances.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied with flavours of blackberry, black cherry, plum, raspberry, cocoa, liquorice, and savoury spice. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity create a silky, elegant texture, while restrained oak ageing enhances complexity without masking the purity of the Syrah.

Finish:
Long, refined, and persistent with lingering dark fruits, black pepper, smoke, violet, and mineral freshness.
